It is amazing how the national news can make the real estate market sound so depressing. In the US they make it seem like the real estate market is trashed all across the country. Here in Dallas/Fort Worth TX we are doing great and selling houses. Yes it is slow, but we are still selling!

It is always great when further information is revealed. There are definitely a few cities to avoid in Mexico, but there are more than a few in the US as well. This was a great post!

I agree!! I have remodeled one house and built two and have always bought my appliances from Tio Sam. Their prices are extremely competative ( especially if you pay cash) and their service is excellent. In addition to Claudia there is now a helper, Gloria, who is bilingual.

There are good and bad areas of almost any country and an many cased cities as well. Maybe you could get them to put a travel advisory out for Detroit as it is one of the worst crime cities in the world and a huge hub for many major airlines...makes a lot of sense, right?

How does on go about being a house sitter. My family of four are just returning to Canada from South Korea. We don't know the area and would love to come from March 1 - May 31 (or longer). What would you suggest?
