Mexico in the Olympics 2008

The age of the Chinese girls team in gymnastics is in question and of course there is the scandal of the lipsyncing little girl during the opening ceremonies sidelining the actual little girl as she was deemed not pretty enough. This will probably scar the off stage child( who by the way is incredibly cute) for life even though her comment was ” I was happy to have any part”.
We have lived in Ajijic/Lake Chapala for 14 years and hailed from Toronto, Canada. The Canadians have taken no medals yet (we are better at winter sports what with the cold weather and such) and the Mexicans have taken 1 bronze for diving. Congratulations to Paola Espinosa an Tatiana Ortiz. Oddly we find ourselves cheering for Canada and Mexico.
We also are very proud of Lorena Ochoa the now # 1 female golfer in the world. She is Mexican and we have adopted her as our own.
85 Mexicans are participating in the olympics and we will root for each and every one of them.
The Mexicans are very generous in allowing us to live in their magnificent country and for that we are very grateful knowing that we will be able to enjoy the 2010 Winter Olympics from Vancouver, Canada from our warm sunny climate. A climate which is oh so good for the soul.
The Olympic Games bring people and countries together and we are very happy to be part of two great countries and peoples. Ajijic/Lake Chapala gets into your heart and soul. Let it. The benefits are innumerable.
